Darkcide Releases Menke Riddim & Shoots Medley Video

Popular Kingston based sound system Darkcide International continues to expand their musical portfolio with the launch of a record label. The label of a similar name in collaboration with Freeze Productions last week released their first official compilation via iTunes titled the Menke Riddim.

Creating quite an uproar on the FM airwaves the Menke Riddim features controversial songs such as Ding Dong’s - ‘Jamaican Groupie.com’, Tony Matterhorn’s – Purple Messages (blackberry broadcast) and the title track ‘Menke’ with Ninja Kid and ZJ Wahwa.

As part of the promotional campaign an accompanying medley video was shot on Sunday under the watchful eyes of director Christopher Campbell of Iceyjace Film Factory, throughout the Kingston and St. Andrew Metropolis with stops in Gordon Town, Papine and the cool hills of Irish Town.

The video adapts an African theme and features Zip Jock Wahwa, Ninja Kid and rising stars Chedda, Shades & Reack with cameos courtesy of 2010 Heineken Green Synergy finalist Dj Naz and Suncity FM’s DJ Calico. Other artiste on the compilation includes; Blak Ryno and Onton.

Now on the chopping blocks the video is set to premiered in approximately two weeks.

Menke is a newly created Jamaican colloquial term coined by Darkcide meaning ‘a female fanatic’
