Tarrus Riley Teams With British Singer On New Major Lazer Album

Known for her popular hit singles including 'Burn', 'Lights' and 'Love Me Like You', British singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has teamed up with reggae star Tarrus Riley on Major Lazer's upcoming album.

The song, titled Powerful, is featured on the upcoming Peace Is The Mission album. According to Riley, he has always been a fan of genre-blending, and a even bigger fan of Ellie Goulding.

"JukeBoxx Productions and Major Lazer have always been like family. I went to Florida to work on another project with Major Lazer, and we ended up completing that project real quick, so there was time to work on other projects. I put down my part on the track, and then later, she did her thing and we created magic," Riley said.

Billboard describes the songs as "sweeping anthem that combines old-school R&B flavour with Major Lazer's signature full-to-bursting, dancefloor-ready sound. Tarrus Riley's contribution keeps Major Lazer in line with Jamaican musical roots, even if his island lilt is muffled in the production."

Riley also commended Major Lazer on their talents and unique ability to incorporate several genres into a beautiful masterpiece.

"I love how they blend different genres of music. I am all about that. I love to change things up. Major Lazer has that vibe, and that's what I admire about them the most."

In the meantime, Riley says he is gearing up for a performance in Bahamas over the weekend.

"We just a do the work, enuh. I'm in it for the long run. Singy Singy nah disappoint. Me a go always represent," - He added
