CD Master Gives Back To Cooreville Gardens Through Fundraiser

In the words of Coretta Scott King, American author, activist, civil rights leader, and wife of Martin Luther King, Jr., "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members."

A revered adage that seems to resonate with noted disc jock and music producer Oneil Wayne Parkinson more popularly known as 'CD Master' within the entertainment industry.

A resident of the Cooreville Gardens community, CD Master says that after noticing several socio-economic ills within his neighbourhood. He felt compelled to do something not only to uplift but also unite the residents. This thought became the catalyst for a fundraising initiative via a Bingo party and Family Fun Day hosted by him earlier this year.

Despite being the inaugural staging the music maestro explains that the event saw a fair outpouring of residents who came and showed their support for the initiative. As part of the proceedings, he also raffled a Samsung flatscreen television set from which part proceeds from the combined earnings were handed over to Vladimir N. Wallace - President of the Cooreville Gardens Citizen Association to assist with community improvement projects.

"If I see something happening within my community that I am not happy about, instead of complaining, I rather do something about it. That is what led me to do the fundraiser!, the residents have welcomed the idea and based on feedback I am now looking at assembling a team to make it a biannual event. Especially because I want to help the senior citizens and children next time around." - CD master exclaimed.

Musically, CD Master who operates the label 'Inna Mi House Music' is currently working on a number of projects including the soon to be released 'Pride and Joy' rhythm featuring Reggae heavyweights: Bugle, Nesbeth, Lutan Fyah, Daville and newcomer Patexx Warrior. Other upcoming projects include a dancehall compilation with Etana, Nesbeth, Serani, RDX, Demarco, Patexx and Tamo J. along with two singles courtesy of Sizzla Kalonji and Bramma.
