Milk Returns To TV as Vybz Kartel Substitute Teacher

Popular Jamaican television personality, Amelia 'Milk' Sewell will make her long awaited return to television when she debuts as the 'Substitute Teacha’s Pet' on Vybz Kartel’s upcoming reality show, Teacha’s Pet.

Teacha’s Pet, set to begin airing this Friday on CVM at 10pm local time, will feature Milk issuing challenges to the 20 girls who will compete for Kartel’s heart. It’s her first appearance on TV since 2008 when she was the regular host of CVM TV’s E-Strip. A public sex tape controversy made her sparse on local television since then but Milk’s excited about returning to the airwaves.

In an interview with the Star, one of Jamaica's local newspaper, Milk explained her role on Teacha’s Pet, "I'm the substitute Teacha's Pet. I'll be there when “Di Teacha” (Kartel) can't come to class.” Additionally, the former host turned deejay implied that teaming with her long-time friend, Kartel offers a great comfort zone for her to get back in the television game.  "We've been the best of friends for the past 10 years, so I'm the perfect go between him and the girls. You have to come through me to get to Kartel,”

Milk was initially approached to appear on the show by Kartel and the producer of “Teacha’s Pet,” Carleene Samuels. Shooting for the reality show concluded this past weekend and Milk is confident that the finished product will be an undisputed success. "I know it's gonna be the most watched show on TV and the experience was one in a million. I've made long lasting friendships with the girls from around the world. Also working with Addi (Kartel) on a day-to-day basis has been great, I've seen how professional he can really be and see that he's a marketing genius,” Milk intimated. She later added that, "It was an epic experience, and I wanna hear what everyone has to say about it. I know it's gonna be international.”

Teacha’s Pet will feature 10 Jamaican girls as well as 10 overseas girls who will feature in several rooms across the “Teacha’s Pet Mansion,” named after past Kartel songs such as “Sweet To Di Belly” & “Dumpa Truck.” A preview of the show was released earlier this month by Kartel; displaying some of the rooms as well as introducing Milk as the “Substitute Teacha’s Pet.”
